IECharge® station locations

Electric Mobility EV Charging Technology

In October 2021, the first IECharge® charging station went into operation in Vézin-le-Coquet, near Rennes. Almost 40 months later, there are 138 IECharge® stations in France. How is the location of future IECharge® stations chosen? Explanations.

In the beginning was the JBox®. This lithium-ion battery storage solution is connected to the electricity grid. It provides grid security services, helping to ensure a constant, fluid supply by constantly adjusting electricity consumption and production. This innovation has made NW Group the leader in electricity storage in France.

The Group’s other patented innovation is the connection of this JBox® to IECharge® charging stations for electric vehicles.

THE JBOX® AND IECHARGE® COMBINATION

This combination of JBox® and IECharge® offers several features for station users. Firstly, it offers the most competitive charging rate, guaranteed in the long term; IECharge® is number 1 in the Chargemap 2025 ranking* in terms of quality/price ratio. Secondly, to ensure a reliable charging speed at four high-power points (two 320kW and two 160kW) without disturbing the electricity grid. And finally, to ensure that the development of the area depends on the development of the JBox®.

Like JBox®, the development of IECharge® began in the west of France. It then developed in Northern France before spreading to Eastern France. Development in the south-east came later. This development is linked to changes in the electricity grid, which is more constrained than elsewhere by the high level of renewable energy production. Connecting the JBox® to the grid is longer and more complex. This regional disparity could be addressed over time.

In the meantime, all future IECharge® station opening projects are available on our map.
